Pooka
Pooka
The village of Dunmore wakes each morning under a curse it has learned to live with. Livestock go missing. The well runs strange. People laugh at odd hours for no reason anyone will admit.
You are the latest soul caught in the loop — died, maybe, or simply chosen. You wake at the inn with nothing but your wits and whatever scraps of luck you can find. Somewhere in this village, in its cellar, its ancient well, and the haunted forest beyond, lie the pieces of a broken bargain. Find them. Learn the name no one speaks. End this.
The village has people worth knowing
Séamus runs the inn and knows more than he lets on. Máire the wise woman can read things that shouldn't be readable. Pádraig has lost his goat and his patience in equal measure. Siobhán weaves thread into something that feels almost like protection. Éamon the smith hasn't been able to work since his tools went missing — but if you find them, he'll forge you something worth carrying.
Help them. Listen carefully. The villagers carry fragments of the curse in their memories, and some of them carry pieces of the name you're looking for.
Not everyone in Dunmore is friendly. The drunk at the bar is looking for a fight — or a reason not to start one. Wolves patrol the eastern forest. Bandits have moved into the hermit's clearing. And deeper in, things without names drift through the dark.
