A downloadable game

This is a port of the 2020 game Beyond a Steel Sky. This version is written with Scala MM400 and it's a point and click game, very similar to the game Myst. This is my entry to AmiGameJam 2024. The first part of the game is available for download, the second (and last) part will be available soon.

Set ten years after the events of the 1994 video game Beneath a Steel Sky, you assume the role of Robert Foster as he finds himself returning to Union City on the hunt for a kidnapped child, only to learn that the city's new utopia state is not what it appears to be.

Beyond a Steel Sky is a video game developed and published by Revolution Software. The name and story is borrowed from the original.

Music
Music by MisthaLu, indiegamemusic.com, and used with his kind permission.

How to play
You just point and click. :) Solve the puzzles and find a way into Union City and solve the crime.

System Requirements
An Amiga (real or emulated) running AmigaOS 3.x is needed. The game is written using Scala MM400 and it requires a copy of Scala or Scala Player to run (not included). If you are using Scala MM300 (v50.2) then use the compatibility file.

It should run on almost any Amiga with at least 4 MB RAM (more is better),  a minimum resolution of 640*512 (with at least 16 colours) , AmigaOS 3.x and Scala.

Nice game!

Good morning.

Thanks for this new project! Published an article (like the others before):
https://www.amiga-news.de/en/news/AN-2024-09-00074-EN.html

By the way: why this new name...?

(1 edit)

This is a port of the sequel to "Beneath a Steel Sky". The sequel is called "Beyond a Steel Sky". The port has the same name as the original sequel.

Sorry, a typo. :) Thanks for pointing it out.

No, my question referred to the name of the developer:

what happened to 'grindercowboy'?

Ah, the typo answer was to mailman.

About the change of username, the developer is still the same person. :) To make a long story short, it was an old username from my days of playing poker. I think I started using it 2008-2009. I haven't played poker in years but the name stuck and when I created my itch-account I couldn't think of any name... and here we are now. :)

...as written in the article if you would have read it... ;))

I have read it. :)
